My name is Jorden Hellemans. I'm 29 years old and I'm living & studying in Murcia, Spain. I was born in Antwerp, Belgium. When l was done with high school I started a 3 year bachelor degree in photography in my hometown. After graduating I felt like I still had so much to learn so I decided to set up a second internship (the first one was during my degree) which led me to Valencia where I improved my skills considerably. Back in Belgium, it was hard to find a decent job as a photographer so I ended up selling cameras. Not the kind of job I had in mind when I graduated. After some time I got tired of my job and I needed something more stimulating and adventurous in my life which made me think about the Camino de Santiago. I wanted to travel as a backpacker, on foot, with a clear goal in mind. This goal was the place of pilgrimage Santiago de Compostela. The idea was to document my trip using my camera as the applied medium. Because you don't decide to walk every day from Belgium to Spain, I thought it might be a good idea to see this personal project as something bigger. So my trip to Galicia's capital became a project to raise money for the non-profit organisation Children of Cambodia. During my walking trip I enjoyed the beauty of nature and met many wonderful people, including my love! After walking for 98 days I finally arrived at Santiago de Compostela's impressive cathedral. Back in Belgium I held an exposition with the pictures I shot during my Camino. Love led me to Murcia (Spain) where I started to study a degree in Tourism. Last school year (2012-2013) the Erasmus Exchange Program gave me the opportunity to study abroad in Liverpool, which I really loved! I already liked The Beatles, but being in Liverpool made me tumble into their psychedelic world where I fell in love with the tunes of the Fab 4! Currently I'm in my last year and impatiently looking forward to my graduation, but still hard work needs to be done to reach the finish line! From November 2013 I'm taking my first steps in teaching English to primary kids.
